Olympic Gold - If only for a moment

Hi all,
I got to meet three time olympian Janet Evans at a meeting in Boston. Her talk was great. Especially the part where she met some "old man" when she was 17 and about to leave for the olympics who gave her some good advise. She admitted not knowing him till the very end of the conversation. It was Mark Spitz. She also related how it felt to be the second to last Torch Bearer in Atlanta in '96 and handing it to Mohammed Ali.
When she was taking questions I asked her if she still swims. She said, "yes but not enough to swim the English Channel", (one of the organizers had told her). At lunch we swapped stories. - A good day!

Comments:
That's beautiful!

That's a great picture Martin! That sounded like a great day.

that's awesome! glad you got the opportunity :)

How cool is that!?! So glad you got to go (although I do find it very distressing that Mark Spitz is an "old" guy!).
